The Runaway Bunny is about a bunny that wants to runaway. He tells his mother of the different roles in which he would take on in order to do so, such as a fish in the stream, a rock on the mountain, and a sail boat sailing away. The mother assures him that wherever he goes, she will find a way to be with him. Clement Hurd's illustrations change from black and white to color, which kept me on my toes and intrigued. 4 out of 5 for this charming book!

This is a classic board book by the same author as Goodnight Moon. I have such fond memories associated with this book from my mom reading it to me to now reading it to my own sons when they were little. The tone of the book is so calming, and I agree that the decision to switch between the black and white illustrations to the vivid color illustrations was a wise decision to capture the reader's attention.
