Mothers from all around the world with different cultures share one thing in common- love for their sons. On every page is a mother and son from a different ethnic background, teaching a lesson, and has the corresponding language of the character in the illustration. The illustrations themselves are breathtaking- full of color and really represent the style of that particular culture. There are two pictures depicted on every page, one with the mother and son doing various things together and one with the mother looking on as the boy does the lesson that the mother is trying to teach. This would be a great book to teach children about different cultures, therefore I would give it a 5 out of 5.

This book sounds like an amazing picture book that could easily be incorporated into discussions about different countries and their cultures. It is always an engaging way to start various lessons by beginning with a story and I think this would be perfect when discussing how cultures are different, but also how they are similar.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds like a cute picture book for children to learn about different cultures. Also if the book includes the culture that the child child reading it from it can give the child something to relate to and feel special about their culture.
ReplyDeleteI really hope you bring this book to class. It sounds like such a great book for anyone. It is important for children to see other cultures and rituals, but that everyone has a mother just like them. I think this book is great for discussing cultures and it can teach the relationship between a mom and son that is so special.
